Continuous Improvement Specialist

We're looking for a motivatedContinuous Improvement Specialistto join our team and help drive meaningful change across our network. In this role, you'll collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify inefficiencies, implement effective solutions, and promote standardization using proven methodologies like Lean. You'll coach teams in applying Lean principles, build habits that lead to lasting improvements, and help translate complex workflows into clear, actionable standards. This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to problem-solving efforts, foster collaboration, and support the development of scalable, repeatable solutions, while growing your own expertise in continuous improvement.

Travel expectations 50% -- based upon the needs of the operations

Key Responsibilities

  • Partner with teams to identify inefficiencies, plan and execute improvement initiatives, and implement sustainable, standardized solutions.

  • Coach and guide teams in applying Lean tools (such as A3, 5S, CEDAC, and value stream mapping), process mapping, and root cause analysis to support team-led improvement efforts and uncover inefficiencies.

  • Analyze key performance indicators and identify trends or gaps to support data-driven decision-making.

  • Encourage creative problem-solving to enhance service, efficiency, inventory management, cost control, and space utilization.

  • Document current and future state processes, standard work, and improvement outcomes.

  • Lead and facilitate change management by clarifying purpose and benefits, addressing resistance, and guiding teams to adopt and sustain new processes.

  • Communicate process changes and improvement strategies clearly, encouraging feedback and collaboration.

  • Develop and deliver training on Lean principles, quality tools, and best practices to build team capability and confidence.

  • Promote a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous learning, championing standardized processes and a mindset of continuous improvement throughout the company.

Qualifications

  • Strong analytical, data-driven, and problem-solving skills.

  • Demonstrated ability to coach, engage, and facilitate cross-functional teams.

  • Familiarity with Lean or related continuous improvement methodologies.

  • Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly convey complex ideas and facilitate feedback.

  • Organized, collaborative, and motivated to drive change.

  • Comfortable using business and productivity tools for documentation, analysis, and training.

  • Experience leading and facilitating change management initiatives.

  • Must be able to work in a team atmosphere.

Working Environment

This position is a remote role, however there may be time where you are expected to travel to one of our laboratory locations in order to train or work with staff. Work onsite is performed in a lab and office setting. Work is subject to chemicals, fumes, gasses, noxious odors, and related items in a lab setting.
