Sanitation Technician

Spectra Tech, Inc. is hiring for a Sanitation Technician in Memphis, Tennessee

Job Description:

The Sanitation Technician is responsible for ensuring that all equipment, surfaces, and production areas are cleaned and sanitized according to company policies, food safety standards, and regulatory requirements. This role plays a critical part in maintaining a hygienic environment to prevent contamination and ensure product quality.

Responsibilities

* Perform routine cleaning and sanitation of production equipment, floors, walls, and other facility areas.
* Follow established sanitation procedures and schedules, including pre-operational inspections.
* Prepare and handle cleaning chemicals safely and in accordance with safety data sheets (SDS).
* Disassemble and reassemble equipment for thorough cleaning as required.
* Document sanitation activities accurately and completely in logs and checklists.
* Collaborate with QA and production teams to ensure compliance with GMP, HACCP, and other food safety standards.
* Report any maintenance or sanitation issues to the supervisor immediately.
* Participate in internal audits and support corrective actions related to sanitation.
* Maintain a clean and organized sanitation supply area.
* Adhere to all safety protocols and wear appropriate PPE at all times.

Educational Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent.

Experience Level:

* Previous experience in sanitation within a food processing or manufacturing environment preferred.
* Knowledge of food safety regulations (FDA, USDA, FSMA) and sanitation best practices.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness.
* Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in wet, cold, or hot environments.
* Willingness to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
