The mission of the Colorado Coalition for the Homeless is to work collaboratively toward the prevention of homelessness and the creation of lasting solutions for homeless and at-risk families, children, and individuals throughout Colorado. The Coalition advocates for and provides a continuum of housing and a variety of services to improve the health, well-being, and stability of those it serves.

The Shuttle Driver is responsible for safely transporting residents, staff, and supplies between Sage Ridge and approved community destinations. This position ensures reliable, timely, and courteous transportation service while maintaining vehicle safety standards and supporting Sage Ridge's mission to provide access to essential resources, appointments, and recovery-related activities.
Additional Requirement
    • Valid driver's license required. This requirement may be waived, if necessary, based on overall candidate experience and current needs of the business.

Essential Job Functions
    • Operate assigned shuttle vehicles to transport residents to and from designated locations, including medical appointments, shopping centers, RTD transit stations, vocational programs, and community resources.
    • Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure safety and report maintenance or safety concerns immediately to the Program Manager or Facilities Team.
    • Maintain accurate transportation logs, mileage records, and rider counts in accordance with program requirements.
    • Enforce program and safety policies while transporting residents, including seatbelt use, behavior expectations, and approved trip destinations.
    • Communicate effectively and respectfully with residents and staff, maintaining a professional and supportive environment.
    • Assist residents with mobility challenges in entering and exiting the vehicle safely when needed.
    • Maintain vehicle cleanliness, fuel levels, and readiness for scheduled runs.
    • Support campus deliveries and errands as assigned, including donation pickups and supply transports.
    • Attend staff meetings and trainings as required.
Qualifications Summary
    • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
    • Valid Colorado Driver's License with an acceptable driving record.
    • Minimum of 1-2 years of professional driving experience preferred.
    • Ability to pass a motor vehicle background check and pre-employment drug screening.
    • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
    • Knowledge of the Denver Metro and Aurora areas preferred.
    • Able to advocate and negotiate in an assertive, but tactful manner, both internally and with community agencies.
    • Understanding of issues related to homelessness including common physical & mental health conditions, recovery-oriented, evidence-based interventions, complexities within provided services, and trauma-informed care.
    • Collaborates cross-departmentally with Coalition staff to grow & contribute to the success of program objectives, culture, & a positive working environment.
$20.64 - $24.28 an hour
