Security Officer - School Reception Desk

As a Security Officer - School Reception Desk in Detroit, MI, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Education, and more. As a Front Desk Security Professional with Allied Universal at an educational location, you will be the first point of contact for students, staff, and visitors. In this role, you will monitor access, assist with badge entry, and provide exceptional customer service while helping to deter security-related incidents. You will utilize computer or tablet systems to support access control procedures, all while displaying professionalism and integrity. What You'll Do:

• Serve as the first point of contact for visitors, students, and staff at the front desk within an education environment, providing a welcoming and professional presence.
• Carry out security-related procedures and site-specific policies as outlined by Allied Universal, adapting to the needs of the location.
• Monitor access to the facility, verifying identification and/or credentials, and logging visitor information as required.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, escalating issues according to site protocols.
• Maintain awareness of surroundings and activities in the immediate area to help to deter unwanted behavior and/or unauthorized access.
• Communicate clearly and promptly with clients, visitors, and Allied Universal management regarding incidents or concerns.
• Assist in emergency response activities as directed by site procedures, providing guidance and support to building occupants.
• Document daily activities and any security-related incidents using Allied Universal reporting systems.

Minimum Requirements:

• At least two years of security-related experience is required.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Comfort with using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Experience with access control or badge systems is preferred.
• CPR or first aid certification is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
