Primary Function: The Institutional Data and Compliance Analyst will be responsible for informing the data strategy and strategic planning efforts of the Office of Institutional Effectiveness, housed within the division of Innovation and Strategy. This role includes but is not limited to gathering data to support institutional decision-making, including academic and institutional assessment efforts, and both institutional and programmatic accreditation. It involves coordinating state and federal agencies compliance reports such as IPEDS (Integrated Postsecondary Education Data System), Common Data Set, Pennsylvania Department of Education (PDE), and many grant programs. This person also works with consultants on reporting solutions and reviews all data for external consumption. Responsibilities: (1) Determines data requirements and generates responses for compliance reporting to the federal and state government (IPEDS, PDE, PERKINS, NC-SARA, VFA, CWDS, etc.) (2) Utilizes and leverages the college's data systems, reporting & analytics tools, and best practices in higher education data analytics to prepare data for college-wide utilization. (3) Creates and maintains a dashboard "Factbook" of both current and census day data for internal and public consumption. (4) Prepares data and coordinates completion of the Common Data Set. (5) Works with consultants on reporting needs and solutions (6) Works with ITS to create and maintain data dictionary, assign dashboard permission levels, and ensure PII and data security with dashboards and all IE data. (7) Performs other related duties as assigned by the Director, Institutional Effectiveness. Organizational Relationships: (1) Responsible to the Director, Institutional Effectiveness for performance of assigned responsibilities. (2) Works closely with members of ITS for coordination of data efforts. (3) Works collaboratively with other members of the office of Institutional Effectiveness (4) Coordinates with academic deans, directors, staff, and faculty regarding data needs and dashboard design requirements. Performance Standards: Performance in this position is considered satisfactory when: (1) mutually agreed upon objectives have been attained within a specified time frame; (2) responsibilities of the position have been carried out at a level consistent with performance objectives; and (3) effective cooperative relationships exist with administrators/staff, faculty, students, external agencies, and the public. Required Qualifications (1) Associate degree or equivalent coursework in statistics, computer programming, research methods, or related fields required (2) Ability to learn and apply institutional data standards and definitions (3) Proficiency in data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau), or experience using data warehousing tools to access and analyze data (4) Demonstrated ability to work with MS Office suite (5) Strong analytical and problem-solving skills (6) Excellent written and verbal communication skills (7) Ability to work independently and as part of a team (8) Ability to effectively manage time and prioritize projects to meet established deadlines (9) Ability to work in a fluid environment with multiple priorities Preferred Qualifications (1) Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., business, statistics, computer science, data science, higher education) (2) Familiarity with higher education data and reporting practices, includingIPEDSand student information systems (3) Knowledge of data warehousing principles and best practices (4) Familiarity with statistical software packages (e.g.,SPSS, R) (5) Proven experience withSQLprogramming for data extraction and manipulation | |
