The Role: Engineering Director

The Engineering Director works with the Presidio Sales and Engineering organizations, customers, and manufacturing partners for the purpose of transforming the customer experience through effective ownership and delivery of Presidio services to match customer outcomes and success criteria.

The Engineering Director will manage activities and people associated with project delivery success factors: profitability, resources utilization, on-time, on-budget and most of all, client satisfaction. The leader selected will identify and build additional opportunities by fostering and expanding client relationships, cultivating additional revenue opportunities and collaborating with the sales team(s) to monetize those opportunities.

The Engineering Director will partner with Sales Management, the Client Engagement Services and Delivery Operations organizations and their peer group across the company to develop and hone service delivery and solution offerings that are attractive to our customers and partners and are scalable and profitable for Presidio.

This position will be based in the Central Region of the United States (Chicago, IL; Milwaukee, WI; Minneapolis, MN; Indianapolis, IN; Detroit or Grand Rapids, MI; Columbus or Cleveland, OH) This role will include up to 25% travel.

Responsibilities include:



  • Maintain high customer satisfaction with post-sales delivery of professional services including implementation, optimization, and assessment services
  • Develop the technical expertise, professional acumen, and efficient operations of the service delivery team
  • Help develop Presidio's professional services portfolio including extensions and modifications to existing offerings
  • Develop relationships with key customers to ensure Presidio adapts its services and offers to their needs
  • Manage all elements of the Business including adherence to key KPIs, revenue goals and profit goals
  • Recruit, hire, develop and retain the best talent in our profession
  • Support the professional development goals of each member of our Engineering team
  • Ensure that the skills and capabilities of the team adhere to Presidio's strategic sales objectives and go-to-market strategy
  • Develop, maintain, and manage highly capable sub-contractor partnerships
  • Create and foster a culture of Excellence and Continuous Improvement


Required Skills and Professional Experience:



  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience and/or military experience
  • Must have 10 years of progressively successful career progression within an IT-related industry
  • Must have 5+ years of managing technical teams in a professional services setting
  • Broad knowledge of enterprise networks, mobility, security, data center, and cloud technologies
  • Experience working with Manufacturer Partners including Cisco, Palo Alto, HPE, Juniper, Aruba, Arista, Fortinet, etc.
  • Strong leadership experience; experience leading managing consultants as well as individual contributors
  • Operational execution excellence
  • Previous success in managing and delivering technology projects with high quality, on time and under budget. Experience in service delivery, technical troubleshooting, project management, people management, OEM partner engagement, and outstanding customer service
  • Previous success managing profit and loss for a line of business
  • Previous success in relationship-building roles
  • A bias for action and sense of urgency
