The Secure Detention Clinical Director isresponsible for overseeing the clinical staff and services for the Secure Detention Center and ensures all clinical treatment plans are met accordingly.


Description
Job Responsibilities

  • Supervises and supports Clinicians and Case Managers in building therapeutic relationships, working with youth one on one and with their families.
  • Implement clinical treatment plans by facilitating case management services, individual and/or family counseling sessions.
  • Supervises Program Coordinators for Alternative to Detention community prevention programming.
  • Oversee the utilization of assessment tools to develop behavior management plans for youth in care.
  • Provides and practice trauma-informed care services and modalities by actively using empathy and understanding in treatment of individuals.
  • Ensures assessments and other applicable paperwork are aligned with federal and state regulations and are kept up to date.
  • Communicates progress reports to various stakeholders such as parents, program leadership, oversight agencies, etc.
  • Ensures evidence based clinical models, when applicable, are implemented to provide counseling for youth and their families to build necessary skills for when they are discharged.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

  • Ability to build and maintain collaborative working relationships with internal and external departments and/or stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of relevant federal and state regulations pertaining to operation of programs offered.
  • Demonstrated organizational, time management and prioritization skills required.
  • Demonstrates decision making, organizational and communication skills including attention to detail, oral and written communication skills, and listening and training skills.
  • Demonstrates time management and strategic thinking skills.
  • Knowledge of computer literacy including but not limited to MS Office suite and other database systems.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
  • Possess knowledge of HIPAA regulations, up to an including an understanding of agency polices and ethics.
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment in a fast-paced culture; must be able to adapt to a changing environment
  • Ability to implement change including ability to help youth progress towards discharge goals.
  • Possess excellent management and mentoring skills.
  • Outstanding communicator with the ability to resolve conflicts and issues.
  • Demonstrates interpersonal skills including ability to listen, act as a role model, and ability to build therapeutic relationships, working effectively one on one with individual youth and their families.
  • Demonstrated ability to implement evidence based clinical models.


Job Requirements

  • Must have a LCSW and a Master's Degree in Social Work is required.
  • Minimum 1-2 years of clinical experience working with youth population in a residential setting. Detention facility experiences. Supervisory or managerial experience preferred.
  • Must have a valid driver's license required as per Agency guidelines.
  • Ability to work with economically and culturally diverse population.
