As a Trade Planning Lead (TPL) you will be responsible for supporting the Snacks Operating Unit Business. In this highly visible role, you will be responsible for partnering with the Operating Unit (OU) and key customer teams. You will work cross-functionally across the OU on the development and execution of trade and sales strategies, distribution sell in, and demand planning in partnership with the PSMs and SPMs. You will build strong business management skills, gain experience working across a broad portfolio, and gain exposure to OU leadership in a differential way. We are looking for someone who can drive business results, operate independently, and influence and build strategies with both the business unit and customer teams.

This role requires an engaging leader who is detail oriented, has a strong bias for action, can bring strategic thought and help in developing winning strategies with a focus on maximizing RNS and trade efficiency. This individual will have the opportunity to develop their skills as a strategic thinker, negotiator and influencer.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

EXECUTIONAL EXCELLENCE

  • Partner closely with the Sr Sales Strategy and Planning Manager (SPMs) and Product Sales Managers (PSMs) to deliver against key business metrics
  • Take personal accountability and ownership for results, deeply understand our key customers, deliver market leading innovation, and prioritize what's important
  • Implement and evaluate the trade strategies for a specific category or customer and make recommendations for improvements
  • Assist in managing development, execution, and implementation of trade changes

PROBLEM SOLVING & ANALYTICS

  • Gather and analyze syndicated data (e.g., from Nielsen, consumers, and/or customers) in order to identify opportunities to drive sales volume through distribution, shelving, merchandising, and pricing
  • Leverage enterprise-wide problem-solving tools and stakeholders to address business problems
  • Provide analysis and insights regarding profit and volume trends using both internal and external/customer data

SELLING EXPERTISE & LEADERSHIP

  • Provide selling teams with support and guidance
  • Assist Brand teams with the development of key national presentations
  • Support the development of joint business plans with customers by defining opportunities, providing key information, and preparing presentation materials

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 2+ years of relevant industry experience in sales, account management, trade funding, category management, or other relevant experience
  • Successful demonstration of analytical skills using various data sources (e.g., Nielsen, IRI, CPM, sales data)
  • Must be proficient in software packages (Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint)

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Corporate or field experience working with cross-functional partners
  • Knowledge of internal reports & systems (SRM Tools, Trade Planner, etc.)

  • International relocation or international remote working arrangements (outside of the US) will not be considered.

Salary Range



The salary range for this position is $81000.00 - $121700.00 / Annually. At General Mills we strive for each employee's pay at any point in their career to reflect their experiences performance and skills for their current role. The salary range for this role represents the numerous factors considered in the hiring decisions including, but not limited to, educations, skills, work experience, certifications, etc. As such, pay for the successful candidate(s) could fall anywhere within the stated range.
