Quality Supervisor

Essential Job Functions:
- Demonstrate core values of Teamwork, Flexibility, and Positive Attitude.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable regulatory food regulations (international, national, state, and local).
- Provides necessary support to operations to ensure consistent, high-quality products are produced and maintaining food safety, sanitation, and safety performance.
- Oversee data administration for all Food Safety & Quality related tasks.
- Responsible for complying with the Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI) standards - SQF.
- Ensure all packaging and labels are compliant.
- Oversee supplier approval, quality, and compliance monitoring.
- Participate in preparation and performance of all internal and third-party audits.
- Administer planning, processes, and results of outsourcing safety testing including but not limited to environmental monitoring and food safety testing.
- This position works hand in hand with the plant and company leadership to formulate impactful strategies to grow and improve the food safety & quality culture.
- Control cost and manage resources within established goals.
- Communicate and work regularly with supervisors and shift leaders, coordinating operations and activities within and between departments, solving quality issues.
- Perform document reviews, ensuring completion and accuracy.
- Able to train and develop food safety culture within our team. Be a teacher and lead by example.
- All other relevant duties as required.
Skills & Qualification Requirements:
- Excellent writing and communication skills
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills and critical thinking skills
- Strong attention to detail.
- General understanding of GMP's, HACCP and Allergen Risk Management
- Knowledge of outsourcing Food safety testing is preferred.
- Must demonstrate a successful history of supervising/leading others, both in daily tasks and in projects
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
- Knowledge of principles and methods of food science, physics, chemistry, or biology; consumer products regulations, production/manufacturing processes, and quality assurance practices; or other relevant areas of the food industry
- Certificate or degree in Food Science or Technology, Microbiology, Chemistry, or related field preferred
- 2 years of Food Safety and Quality Assurance experience in a food manufacturing environment.
