We are hiring a Quality Engineer to support Steelcase Quality objectives and serve as the customer advocate in the total Supply Chain - from our supply base through product development and manufacturing, to our customers. Helping You Thrive By: Offering competitive wages and benefits, that support your life both in and out of work Providing a flexible hybrid work schedule, meaning we expect the office to be your primary place of work, balanced with choice and control Creating continuous learning opportunities to help you grow and upskill Fostering a culture of inclusion where employees feel seen, heard and valued - and living it out every day Empowering you to make a meaningful impact on people and the planet through your work and Steelcase's ongoing commitment You'll Support Meaningful Work By: Supporting Steelcase Quality objectives and serving as the customer advocate throughout the total Supply Chain Supporting FMEA-based risk mitigation activities Designing and evaluating manufacturing quality assurance systems, procedures, and statistical techniques Managing functional responsibilities across cross-functional teams Specifying inspection and testing mechanisms and equipment Analyzing production and service processes and recommending specification revisions when needed Formulating or contributing to quality assurance policies and procedures Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or a related field 4-6 years of experience in Quality Engineering or a technical field Ability to travel up to 10% Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Effective communication and collaboration across cross-functional teams Qualified applicants must be authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis. Desired Skills and Experience: Applying a comprehensive understanding of quality engineering principles and standards (e.g., ASQ Quality Engineer Body of Knowledge) Developing technical solutions to complex, strategic problems Making decisions that significantly impact the customer experience Collaborating effectively across functions and levels of management Demonstrating project management and advanced facilitation skills Representing the company as a technical lead on key projects Understanding product testing requirements, development cycles, and special processes Doing better for people and planet Steelcase is a global design and thought leader in the world of work.
