Join us as our new Process Engineer As our new Process Engineer, you will play a key role in driving operational excellence by leading initiatives focused on safety, quality, yield, and efficiency improvements. In addition to spearheading these efforts, you will oversee process engineering projects, deliver technical support, and enhance existing manufacturing systems to optimize performance and reliability. In this role you'll make an impact by:
- Driving improvements in safety, quality, yield and efficiency in manufacturing including Fermentation, Separation and Freeze Drying.
- Participating in cross-functional local and international teams for the on-going improvement of equipment and processes and other assignments.
- Managing the cleaning process (e.g., CIP) and freeze drying in the operations area.
- Acting as a technical resource to manufacturing, engineering, sales and marketing, and R&D.
- Collaborating with operators and supervisors to solve problems in the production plant.
- Working with Production, Engineering, Quality Assurance, and Maintenance teams on upgrades and projects - including both small capital projects and large engineering projects.
- Consulting with engineering and maintenance personnel about modification of machines, equipment and buildings to improve production and quality of products.
- Recommending improvements for design and use of culture production equipment.
- Conferring with vendors to determine product specifications and arrange for purchase of equipment, materials, or parts, and evaluates products according to specifications and quality standards.
To succeed you must hold:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, preferably chemical or biomedical.
- 3+ years of work experience within a process-driven manufacturing environment.
- Knowledge of Packaging processes, Food or Pharma hygienic, aseptic, and cGMP design, and CIP/SIP processes. Experience with Freeze Drying frozen product handling, blending, and packaging is a plus.
- Possess strong verbal, written, communication, analytical, interpersonal and organizational skills.
- Skills for business problem solving, conflict resolution, influencing others and change management.
- Ability to work in local and global cross-functional environments.
- Experience with IT and automation implementations (PLCs and HMIs) in production and production-related areas preferred.
- Lean & Six Sigma training or certification, with the ability to use the Six Sigma methodologies, tools and statistical software preferred.
- Ability to move about the production facility including but not limited to: standing, walking, wearing PPE, and occasionally lifting and/or moving materials or equipment up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to occasionally travel and work after hours.
