Job Description




As a Security Officer - Patrol Driver Telecom Sector in Herndon, VA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Tech/Media/Telecom, and more. As a Patrol Unarmed Officer with Allied Universal, you will help to deter security-related incidents by conducting routine patrols and monitoring assigned areas within a dynamic tech, media, and telecom location. Your visible presence and commitment to outstanding customer service will contribute to creating a welcoming environment for everyone on site. This is a driving post, where your role includes utilizing a company vehicle to support patrol efforts and respond to situations as needed, while embracing Allied Universal's values of agility, reliability, innovation, teamwork, and integrity.

What You'll Do:

  • Provide excellent customer service by carrying out security-related procedures and site-specific policies, including emergency response activities when appropriate.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner within the location.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the premises and perimeter to help to deter potential security-related issues.
  • Monitor entry and exit points to assist with the control of access and help to deter unauthorized individuals.
  • Document and report any unusual activities, observations, or incidents in accordance with company and client protocols.
  • Communicate clearly and professionally with visitors, employees, and/or management as needed.
  • Assist with implementing site-specific directives and procedures to support a secure environment within the business setting.

Minimum Requirements:

  • At least two years of security-related experience is required.
  • A valid driver's license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • Experience with access control and/or badge systems is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
