Security Officer - Utilities Patrol

As a Security Officer - Utilities Patrol in Rapid City, SD, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Utilities, and more. As a Patrol Unarmed Officer with Allied Universal, you will have the opportunity to help create a secure environment at a utilities location by conducting regular patrols and remaining highly visible to help to deter security-related incidents. What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures and site-specific policies, as well as emergency response activities when appropriate.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations at the utilities location in a calm, problem-solving manner.
• Conduct regular and random patrols around the business premises and the perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity. Working environments and conditions may vary by client site.
• Monitor and report any irregularities, such as equipment or property damage, theft, presence of unauthorized persons, or unusual occurrences.
• Communicate clearly and professionally with site staff, visitors, and emergency personnel as required.
• Follow all post orders and instructions provided by Allied Universal and site management.
• Maintain a visible presence to help to deter potential issues and provide reassurance to employees and visitors at the utilities location.

Minimum Requirements:

• Graduate of Law Enforcement or Military Police Training Program or Equivalent.
• Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Access control or badge experience is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
