What to Expect Tesla is seeking a highly motivated BIM Specialist to coordinate between our Infrastructure Design teams, Construction teams, and Manufacturing Engineering in the Bay Area. In this role, you will manage the digital lifecycle of our facilities, ensuring that the physical building systems perfectly integrate with our high-density production lines. You will go beyond simple modeling; you will manage complex federated models, enforce data integrity, and drive coordination to prevent issues before construction begins. The ideal candidate will have experience working with large, complex projects and be able to multi-task and collaborate with several technical disciplines. What You'll Do Maintain the integrity and health of central Revit files, including regular auditing, purging, and parameters management to ensure optimal performance Ensure all internal and external stakeholders adhere to Tesla's modeling standards Coordinate As-built models' development with reality capture data (point clouds) to ensure the "Digital Twin" matches reality Manage conversion of manufacturing and tool lines 2D and 3D geometry into usable BIM content Identify opportunities to automate repetitive tasks using Dynamo, Python, or proprietary tools to increase efficiency; Create and maintain Revit and family parameters Provide BIM expertise to ensure detailed, accurate BIM models; guide digital delivery for large, fast-paced projects in partnership with discipline leads and executive management Responsible for setup, maintenance, and clash detection for large, federated BIM models across 8-10 disciplines in cloud-hosted projects, coordinating global internal/external teams across time zones and stakeholders What You'll Bring Degree in Construction Management or Civil, Architectural, or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience 3+ years of experience in BIM coordination, preferably in industrial, semiconductor, Solar, battery, mission-critical facility construction, etc. Proven expertise in Revit and clash coordination applications (Navisworks/Revizto) Experience in AutoCAD, IFC, data interoperability and general awareness of other BIM and parametric design applications Experience with reality capture applications; Experience with scripting and/or visual programming automation tools (Dynamo and Python) preferred Familiarity with Revit and BIM data exchange and interoperability Experience interfacing with construction and cost control on quantity takeoffs and alignment between Work Breakdown Structure based cost tracking and BIM parameters Compensation and Benefits Benefits Along with competitive pay, as a full-time Tesla employee, you are eligible for the following benefits at day 1 of hire: Medical plans > plan options with $0 payroll deduction Family-building, fertility, adoption and surrogacy benefits Dental (including orthodontic coverage) and vision plans, both have options with a $0 paycheck contribution Company Paid (Health Savings Accounts) HSA Contribution when enrolled in the High-Deductible medical plan with HSA Healthcare and Dependent Care Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA) 401(k) with employer match, Employee Stock Purchase Plans, and other financial benefits Company paid Basic Life, AD&D Short-term and long-term disability insurance (90 day waiting period) Employee Assistance Program Sick and Vacation time (Flex time for salary positions, Accrued hours for Hourly positions), and Paid Holidays Back-up childcare and parenting support resources Voluntary benefits to include: critical illness, hospital indemnity, accident insurance, theft & legal services, and pet insurance Weight Loss and Tobacco Cessation Programs Tesla Babies program Commuter benefits Employee discounts and perks program Expected Compensation $108,000 - $180,000/annual salary + cash and stock awards + benefits Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered.
