DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As a Mechanical Engineer Consultant, you will perform advanced consultative mechanical engineering work, serve as an in-house mechanical design expert, and provide direction to management about new technology. You will complete designs, specifications, and Computer Aided Design (CAD) drawings for construction projects; review reports, computations, and cost estimates; and ensure projects comply with design practices, applicable codes, and policies. This role requires advanced knowledge of mechanical engineering principles to support construction, maintenance, and operational problems. In addition, you will conduct site inspections, review contract change orders, provide assistance to facility maintenance managers, and lend technical guidance to other engineering and technical staff. - Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week
- Work hours are 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
- Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, up to three days per week after the initial 6-month training period. During the training period, you must report to 1920 Technology Parkway, Mechanicsburg. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Mechanicsburg. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time. Additional details may be provided during the interview.
- Employees with the required certification or license may be eligible to receive a lump sum payment at the time of hire and each time the certification or license is renewed.
- Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Two years as a Mechanical Engineer 2 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
- Four years of professional mechanical engineering experience which required work on any structural mechanical system.
Special Requirements:
- You must be in possession of a Professional Engineer license issued by the Pennsylvania State Registration Board for Professional Engineers, Land Surveyors and Geologists.
- You must be in possession of a valid driver's license which is not under suspension.
Other Requirements:
- Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA is required.
- PA residency requirement is currently waived for this title.
- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
