Your Role as the Manager, Finance Technology
Provide strategic guidance and direction across the Finance department, leveraging expertise in data analytics, data science, robotic process automation (RPA), and artificial intelligence (AI). Lead the evaluation and implementation of process improvements, ensuring alignment with the organization's vision and maximizing value through advanced technology solutions. By partnering with finance leadership and cross-functional teams, you will guide transformation initiatives, supports key projects, and foster a culture of continuous improvement. Emphasize development of technical skillsets within the team and maintaining strong governance and compliance standards to support both current and future business needs.

Location: Orrville, OH

Work Arrangements: hybrid, 40% in office expectation

In this role you will:

  • Strategic Technology Leadership & Guidance

    • Cultivate a culture of innovation, empower teams to expand their technical expertise, and provide ongoing guidance and training on emerging technologies Understand and synthesize existing JMS processes and use cases

    • Manage the prioritization of opportunities, ensuring alignment with the overall Finance vision and strategy as well as the return on investment

    • Set the strategic direction for the Finance department, ensuring all initiatives align with the broader organizational vision and deliver measurable value

  • Project Oversight & Governance

    • Provide the necessary support for key projects and initiatives

    • Support system cloud implementations from a data and reporting perspective

    • Ensure compliance needs are met around data and reporting

  • Team Development & People Leadership

    • Build and develop direct report(s)/team(s) that deliver results in support of the Company strategy through essential day-to-day management strategies

    • Support indirect teams - including other data analysts through the Finance function

  • Continuous Improvement & Innovation

    • Committed to driving continuous improvement in processes, systems, and ways of working, encouraging openness to new development and growth opportunities

    • Set the tone for a culture of ongoing learning and adaptability, ensuring the Finance function remains agile and forward-thinking

What we are looking for:

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in computer information systems, information technology, or related field

  • 6+ years of experience in data & analytics, process automation, data science, and any other relevant technology field

  • Understanding of relational databases and a knowledge of programming. Familiarity with certain languages (SQL, R, Python)

  • Ability to manage and develop a team with varying levels of experience and exposure to business processes

  • Experience in process improvement initiatives

  • Strong business, financial, and technical acumen with attention to detail and creative problem-solving skills

  • Ability to work with large data sets and a high comfort level in manipulating and analyzing complex, high-volume, high dimensionality data from varying sources and levels of quality

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills - able to communicate across functional areas and effectively communicate technical topics

  • Strong understanding of concepts relating to data quality, data profiling, and enterprise data governance

  • Continuous learning mindset necessary to advance the department as the company adopts new technologies for modelling, forecasting, machine learning, automation, etc.

Additional skills and experience that we think would make someone successful in this role:

  • Experience with Spotfire, Tableau, and Databricks

  • Experience with Copilot or other AI tools

  • Familiarity with Blue Prism or other RPA tools
