What to Expect

The Responsible Sourcing & Supplier Due Diligence Team is looking for a highly skilled and motivated specialist to support our Supply Chain Organization group with a focus on supplier financial health management. You will be part of a team that is positioned independently from any commodity and serves as an internal supply chain optimization resource globally.

Your primary responsibility in this role will be the development of Tesla's supplier financial health program strategy and operations including goals, guidelines and processes to proactively manage potential and actual risks. This can include, but not limited to, financial statement analysis of distressed suppliers, risk mitigation plan development, and supplier insolvency management. The role requires strong cross-functional working relationships with our supply chain, finance, and legal teams to communicate goals, ask the right questions, collect feedback, and provide guidance. Tesla is a fast moving, dynamic environment where flexibility and adaptability are key attributes. An ideal candidate is a self-starter with extensive knowledge of financial analysis and risk mitigation best practices.


What You'll Do
  • Analyze financial statements to identify root causes of supplier financial distress, developing targeted risk mitigation action plans to strengthen supply chain resilience
  • Interpret and communicate financial health assessment results to non-finance audiences, including financial statement key metrics and insights with a supply-chain perspective
  • Meet with suppliers to investigate underlying risk drivers and document proposed turnaround plans to improve financial health, stress-testing assumptions
  • Continuously support supplier financial health monitoring by proactively initiating, tracking, and escalating completion of financial health assessments
  • Research and recommend supplier financial health risk mitigation best practices, collaborating with purchasing teams to embed recommendations into sourcing processes
  • Proactively conduct impact/scenario analysis based on inherent and emerging industry, global economy, financial markets, and regulatory risks across relevant commodities
  • Support ad-hoc, cost-based financial modeling requests informing estimates to scale responsible sourcing efforts such as supplier decarbonization and impact projects

What You'll Bring
  • Degree in accounting, finance, business, and/or equivalent experience or evidence of exceptional ability
  • Credit analysis and/or financial risk management experience in investment or commercial banking, automotive, consulting and/or tech industry
  • Ability conduct income statement, balance sheet, and cash flow statement analysis to determine the state of a supplier's financial health
  • Exceptional communication, strategic thinking, and interpersonal skills
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize and manage demanding deadlines
  • High proficiency with Microsoft Windows and Office applications, particularly Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint

    Expected Compensation
    $76,000 - $132,000/annual salary + cash and stock awards + benefits

    Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
