Job Summary
The Manager of Outage and Power Plant Support is responsible for leadership and oversight of NIPSCO's outage management process and the Power Plant Support maintenance team. This position will develop, implement, and oversee the Generation outage process to ensure successful execution of NiSource and NIPSCO Electric Operation's strategic goals.
Essential Functions

Apply industry best practices to integrate knowledge areas for optimum reliability and operations of NIPSCO's assets. Manage staff in the development of asset estimates, budgets, schedules, risk identification, and scope. Effectively manage and control our Outage Process and Power Plant Support Team assets by defining and administering appropriate staffing resources. Implement strategic outage and maintenance plans by soliciting and consolidating feedback from all stakeholders, performance management and leadership teams to effectively maintain our KPI's. Generate and manage mitigative actions plans for events that drive our performance relative to our KPI's. Actively engage with the teams and leadership to ensure our KPI's align with the industry and corporate strategic visions and goals. Aggregate and consolidate data and information to present to leadership in a concise and straight forward format to drive key business decisions and financial activities. Work with leadership teams to develop and drive internal alignment on asset-level strategy and determine annual objectives. Provide timely, relevant, and quantifiable information to their Directors and Vice Presidents to assist them with balanced decision-making regarding risk management and financial opportunities Creates and ensures compliance to schedule and all tasks that role up within schedule. Ensures all OSHA, NEC, NFPA, AWSD1.1, federal, state, and other applicable codes and regulations are followed during the repair, replacement, and operation of station equipment. Communicates and leads discussions of activities with all internal and external stakeholders (Site Managers, Contractors, Schedulers, etc). Develop and implement new processes and procedures for Outage Management and Support. Provide concise and timely updates to leadership and occasionally represent your functional areas when presenting to executive level leadership. Ensure resource decisions and tasks are backed by data and justified by value added benefits to the organization. Ensures all internal and external stakeholders are aligned to support successful completion of all assets from outage phase into operations restoration phase. Support the Financial Planning Process by means of being an active participant in Fossil Asset Management (FAM) and Continuous Improvement working sessions. Liaise between the company, contractors, and all other local stakeholders for all generation assets. Act as an advisor on at least one utility industry group (such as EPRI)
Required Qualifications For Position
Bachelor's Degree Bachelor's degree in related field such as Business/Engineering or Engineering Technology or other related field from an accredited university or college 7-9 years Experience in one or more of the following: outage or project management, operations, maintenance, engineering, legal/contractual. Must have the ability to lead and function in multi-discipline teams across multiple sites High Ability to coach, develop and motivate employees to perform at high levels of productivity High Strong organizational planning and business administration skills High Strong communication, negotiation, presentation and interpersonal skills High Strategically minded with strong analytical and problem-solving skills High Working knowledge of accounting, finance, and analytical processes Medium Previous experience with financial planning and budget management. High Working knowledge of all aspects of a regulated electric utility Medium Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications High Knowledge of permit limits and requirements. Medium Working knowledge of Primavera P6 scheduling software or similar software platforms Medium Experience/education/training in writing business plans, creating implementation plans (tactical and strategic), budget justifications Medium Knowledge with generation assets High Mental/physical stress management skills to effectively deal with the pressures of unexpected changes, deadlines, time, and budget constraints High Experience/trained use of computers and project software. Formal training/education in coaching and development of employees Medium

Salary Range*: $129,500.00 - $194,300.00
*The salary offered to a candidate is based on several factors including but not limited to the candidate's skills, job-related knowledge, and relevant experience, as well as internal pay equity. Posting Start Date: 2025-12-24
