Job Description




As a Security Officer - Armed Inmate Transport in Land O Lakes, FL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As an Armed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal, you will monitor and patrol assigned government locations, helping to deter security-related incidents and providing a visible presence. This role is both armed and driving, requiring you to conduct routine patrols and interact with the public while delivering exceptional customer service. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies and/or emergency response activities as directed by Allied Universal.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, using sound judgment and following established protocols.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around the assigned government location and its perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and observe for unusual conditions.
  • Monitor entrances, exits, and other access points to help to deter unauthorized entry and maintain a visible presence.
  • Maintain detailed and accurate records of daily activities, incidents, and any unusual occurrences as required by site protocols.
  • Collaborate with local law enforcement and/or emergency responders when necessary, following Allied Universal and site guidelines.
  • Carry and handle assigned firearms responsibly in accordance with Allied Universal and site-specific policies, adhering to all applicable laws and regulations.
  • Assist staff, visitors, and members of the public by providing information and guidance as requested while maintaining a professional demeanor.

Minimum Requirements:

  • A valid driver's license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • At least 2 years of law enforcement, military, or corrections experience is required.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
