Job Description




As a Security Officer - Unarmed Healthcare Patrol Specialist in Columbia, SC, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Healthcare, and more. As an unarmed patrol officer with Allied Universal in a healthcare location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, helping to deter security-related incidents and providing a reassuring presence. You will interact with staff, patients, and visitors, delivering exceptional customer service and communication. This is a driving position, offering the opportunity to be a key part of a caring and reliable team that values integrity and puts people first.

What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures and site-specific policies, as well as responding to emergency situations when appropriate.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner within the healthcare environment.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the facility and its perimeter to help to deter unwanted activity and/or unauthorized access.
  • Monitor entrances, exits, and sensitive areas to help to deter security-related incidents and maintain a visible presence.
  • Observe and report any unusual activity, hazards, or maintenance needs encountered during patrols.
  • Collaborate with facility staff and law enforcement as needed to address security-related concerns.
  • Complete detailed reports on incidents, observations, and daily activities as required by Allied Universal and site-specific protocols.

Minimum Requirements:

  • A valid driver's license is required in the state where the job is located.
  • At least one year of security-related experience is required.
  • Proof of high school diploma or GED is required as per client requirements.
  • Applicants must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
