Project Overview: The Project-Specific Training Automation (PSTA) initiative is focused on improving how project-specific training requirements are assigned and managed for study team members. The project will deliver a streamlined, standardized process supported by an internal application that helps ensure team members receive the correct training based on their role and study involvement. The goal is to reduce manual effort, improve consistency, and make it easier for teams to manage and track training needs across projects.
Role Scope / Deliverables: The contractor will provide development services involving Oracle PL/SQL, Oracle APEX, and integration components required to support data exchange between an Oracle Database and the Learning Management System (LMS). Work will be performed in collaboration with the CRG IT development team, following established coding, documentation, version-control, and review standards. All deliverables must be original, testable, maintainable, and aligned to project architecture and guidelines.
Responsibilities
1. API Integration Development
o Develop PL/SQL packages, procedures, and functions to support secure, reliable REST-based integrations with the LMS.
o Implement logic for extraction, transformation, loading, error handling, and retry logic.
o Structure data according to LMS API requirements.
2. Oracle APEX Development
o Support development or enhancement of APEX UI components including pages, forms, reports, validations, and process logic.
o Align work with functional requirements and existing Study Inventory architecture.
3. Testing & Code Review
o Conduct unit testing of all deliverables.
o Participate in peer code reviews and provide technical feedback.
o Ensure performance, maintainability, and compliance with coding standards.
4. Documentation & Compliance
o Provide documentation for all code, integrations, and APEX components.
o Follow CRG IT quality, security, and validation expectations.
Deliverables
1. Complete PL/SQL integration packages supporting LMS REST API interactions.
2. APEX UI components aligned with functional requirements.
3. Unit test cases and execution results for all assigned work.
4. Peer review feedback and incorporated revisions.
5. Final source code and documentation stored in the required repository.
Key Skills:

• Oracle PL/SQL (must-have / non-negotiable)
• Experience with LMS APIs (SumTotal / Cornerstone REST APIs strongly preferred)
• Hands-on REST API integration experience, including:
  o JSON request/response handling
  o Authentication mechanisms
  o Error handling and retries
  o Understanding and interpreting third-party API documentation
• Oracle APEX development experience
• Ability to collaborate with internal SMEs to align on LMS data model and requirements
• Strong debugging and performance tuning skills
• Experience delivering maintainable, well-documented code in a regulated (validated) environment preferred
