Production Team Lead - Wash and Breakdown

Position Summary
Responsible for overseeing production output for assigned employees while also meeting individual performance expectations.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Monitor tool flow by work type within the assigned area, maintaining accurate hour-by-hour production charts and reporting to the manager at agreed intervals

  • Order parts for the assigned area by completing part requisition forms according to the designated ordering schedule

  • Audit workbenches daily to ensure proper reset at the end of each shift, including correct placement of parts and tools and verification that all tools and fixtures are in good working order

  • Immediately notify the manager of any tools or fixtures that are not functioning properly

  • Ensure parts are stored in correct bins and properly located on benches according to standard layouts and 5S requirements

  • Continuously identify, generate, and implement process improvements

  • Document parts defects and overages or shortages using appropriate forms and attach parts as required for management review

  • Maintain necessary materials such as packing supplies and material handling equipment

  • Assist with quality control activities for all products within the assigned area

  • Enter production data into Access systems for TapeTech Production or Ames, as required

  • Assist with training new employees and cross-training team members within the area of responsibility

  • Support qualification and scrapping of tools as required for Ames production

  • Maintain accountability for both team production output and individual performance

Basic Qualifications

  • High school diploma or one to two years of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience

  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence

  • Ability to communicate effectively with supervisors and managers

  • Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals

  • Ability to apply common-sense reasoning to follow detailed instructions and resolve standardized problems

  • Ability to shift priorities and adapt to fluctuating workloads

  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion

  • Strong mechanical aptitude

  • Effective time management and organizational skills

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Participation in Lean Production initiatives

  • Vision requirements include close vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus
