Job Description




As a Security Officer - Armed Retail Patrols Evenings in Austin, TX, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Retail/Malls, and more. As a Patrol Armed Officer with Allied Universal, you will conduct routine patrols throughout a retail location, maintaining a visible presence to help to deter security-related incidents. In this armed role, you will interact with staff and visitors, provide outstanding customer service, and respond to situations as needed. Pay: $26.50 / hour
Location: Austin Tx

Requirements:

    Must be 21 years or older
  • Minimum 5 years of Armed Security, or 3 years Law Enforcement, Corrections or Military experience
  • Active Level III Armed Security License
  • Ability to stay alert and focused during shifts
  • Strong communication and observation skills

What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to clients and guests by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies and/or emergency response activities as required.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, utilizing appropriate de-escalation techniques when necessary.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the retail location and its perimeter to help to deter unwanted activity and provide a visible Allied Universal presence.
  • Monitor for potential threats or suspicious activity, and report findings according to site protocols.
  • Maintain awareness of the environment and communicate any unusual conditions to management and/or law enforcement as appropriate.
  • Support access control by verifying credentials when necessary and ensuring only authorized individuals enter restricted areas.
  • Document all incidents, observations, and activities in accordance with Allied Universal and site-specific procedures.
  • Maintain professional appearance and demeanor while providing a welcoming and secure environment for visitors, employees, and vendors.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Have 3 or more years of combined law enforcement, military, or security-related experience or possess a college degree.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Possess a Level III armed certification if working in Texas.
  • Handcuffing certification is preferred.
  • Baton certification is preferred.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
