The Quincy Kroc Center is seeking friendly, outgoing, and service-oriented individuals to join our team as Welcome Desk Attendants. In this role, you'll serve as the welcoming face of the Kroc Center - helping members, guests, and visitors feel informed, supported, and excited to be a part of our community.

As a Welcome Desk Attendant, you help ensure that individuals and families can easily access the programs, services, and experiences that promote health, wellness, connection, and fun - supporting the Kroc Center's mission to strengthen mind, body, and spirit.

Position Details

Position Type: Part-time, working up to 19 hours/week

Pay Rate: $15.00/hour

Schedule: Flexible scheduling with required weekend availability; additional weekday or evening shifts may be available based on Center needs

Position Overview

Welcome Desk Attendants support daily operations at the membership desk by providing excellent customer service, assisting with check-ins and transactions, and sharing information about Kroc Center programs and memberships. This role blends hospitality, organization, and communication in a fast-paced, people-focused environment.

What You'll Do

• Greet members and guests with warmth and professionalism, ensuring everyone feels welcomed and valued
• Serve as an information resource, answering questions about the facility, programs, classes, and membership options
• Conduct engaging facility tours for prospective members
• Support membership sales by sharing program benefits and helping guests find the best fit for their needs
• Provide excellent customer service by responding to inquiries and resolving concerns promptly and professionally
• Receive incoming calls with a friendly, professional manner, answer questions when possible, and direct callers to the appropriate staff member for additional support
• Manage member check-in to maintain smooth foot traffic flow
• Operate Customer Relationship Manager (CRM) and point-of-sale (POS) systems to process memberships, program registrations, and merchandise purchases
• Maintain a clean, organized, and professional membership desk area

What We're Looking For

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Prior customer service experience is a plus, but enthusiastic and reliable beginners are welcome
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to connect with people of all ages and backgrounds
• Friendly, professional, and approachable demeanor
• Ability to remain calm, professional, and solution-focused in a busy environment
• Basic computer skills and comfort using CRM and POS systems
• Ability to respond quickly and appropriately to safety or facility needs

Physical & Working Conditions

• Ability to sit and stand for extended periods of time
• Regular walking, bending, reaching, and lifting equipment or supplies (up to 25lbs)
• Work performed in an active community center environment with varying noise levels
• May be exposed to cleaning chemicals, fitness equipment, and high-traffic activity areas
