About the role:
As a Principal Supplier Performance Engineer, you will lead supplier excellence through hands on technical oversight, risk management, and performance ownership-working closely with suppliers to turn complexity into reliable, fully compliant delivery. You will report to the APx Supply Chain NSSS, SPx Manager and work remotely.
Key Responsibilities:
Evaluate and develop suppliers for complex nucleargrade products by assessing manufacturing capability, equipment readiness, material availability, process controls, and compliance with Westinghouse technical and quality requirements (NQA1, 10 CFR 50 App. B, 10 CFR 21, ASME Section III).
Lead supplier development and qualification for new products including risk identification and mitigation.
Define and manage Supplier Oversight Plans including witness and holdpoint strategy, and oversight cost estimates.
Perform supplier oversight, executing or delegating witness and hold points, documenting results, issuing required actions, and coordinating quality surveillance with Westinghouse Supplier Quality.
Drive supplier performance through scorecards and continuous monitoring to ensure full compliance with technical specifications and quality standards.
Manage supplier corrective actions, including SCAR, rootcause analysis (8D), and verification of preventive and corrective actions, while developing and overseeing Performance Improvement Plans when needed.
Lead and escalate technical issues and major quality events to WBS organization, ensuring stakeholders coordination and providing manufacturing technical expertise.
Review supplier documentation and verify correct flow down of technical and quality requirements. Review deviations, nonconformance reports, technical records, and quality assurance documentation associated with ASME Section III stamping processes.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Materials, or related Engineering discipline.
Minimum 5 years of experience in nuclear manufacturing or similarly regulated heavy industries.
Knowledge of nuclear codes and standards, including ASME Section III (required).
Understanding of manufacturing processes such as machining, welding ,NDE, equipment assembly, and testing (reactor coolant pumps preferred).
Experience with process capability analysis and PFMEA.
Experience leading multiple crossfunctional, international projects.
Knowledge of final QA documentation and ASME Section III stamping processes.
Commitment to personal, industrial, and nuclear safety.
Ability to mentor other Supplier Performance Engineers and contribute to best practices for oversight plans.
Willing to perform oversight at the supplier's workshop based in United States.
Willing to support business trips to other suppliers' facilities up to 20% (typical trips 2-5 days)
