Overview

Edgewater Federal Solutions is seeking Senior Windows System Administrator support a major national laboratory.



Responsibilities

    Monitor, maintain, and repair physical and virtual systems.
  • Apply operating system or application patches, install or replace hardware, and implement configuration changes to improve or restore system performance.
  • Develop instructions and procedures for system maintenance, create scripts to automate monitoring and repair tasks, and conduct quality assurance checks.
  • Contribute to process development and system improvement efforts.


Qualifications

  • BA degree and 2 years in IT related field or 8 years of experience
  • Must have an active DOE Q Clearance Minimum to Start or DoD Top Secret with Reciprocity
  • Must be US Citizen

Required Skills:

  • Windows embedded OS and applications
  • Familiarity with Operation Technology (OT) and Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) administration
  • Familiarity with network protocols and network management technologies
  • Skill utilizing software diagnostic tools and the ability to conduct appropriate troubleshooting processes and conduct appropriate upgrades
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills with customers, vendors, and database administrators and ability to work well in a collaborative team environment while working 100% onsite

Desired Skills:

  • Familiarity with Commercial off the Shelf (COTS) application support
  • Familiarity with Azure Cloud support, specifically around single sign-on configuration and support
  • Familiarity with Agile work processes (standups, Kanban/work boards)
  • Ability to understand the application and utilization of software packages, maintain accurate records
  • Ability to research, assemble, and evaluate information or data regarding industry practices or applicable regulatory changes and recommend sound, practical solutions to complex issues.
  • Ability to define systems requirements based on user/client needs, cost, and required integration with existing applications, systems, or platforms.
  • Ability to define technical standards and functionality tests, and to develop specifications, prototypes, or initial user guides.
  • Computer and network troubleshooting
  • Experience with Service Now (SNOW)
  • Windows system administration experience at least 1-3 years
  • Automation platforms such as Ansible, VmWare, Python at least 1-3 years
  • Experience leading and implementing large technical solutions
  • RHCE/CCNA
  • Experience in Bash, PowerShell, or other scripting language for automating System Admin tasks or troubleshooting existing processes
  • Experience with container technology, such as Kubernetes, RKE, Docker, etc
  • Virtualization, servers, storage, and networking equipment experience
  • ESXI experience
