Presbyterian is hiring a Cardio Testing Tech to perform procedures with completed and documented competency, within scope of certification and PHS policy and under the direct supervision of the provider. These procedures include performing treadmill exercise tolerance tests, stress echocardiograms, 6-minute walk tests, and nuclear stress tests. May need to provide coverage to other departments as necessary.

Type of Opportunity: Full time FTE: 1.00 Job Exempt: No Work Shift: Weekday Schedule Monday-Friday (United States of America)

Responsibilities:

  • *Obtain and document routine vital signs.
    *Treadmill exercise tolerance tests
    *Stress echocardiograms
    *Nuclear stress tests
    * Identify abnormalities during testing, determine corrective actions, and elevate to appropriate provider during an emergency
    * Performing Electrocardiograms (ECG/EKG) and bring abnormal findings to providers
    * Prepares patient for the visit using established patient preparation guidelines, collecting appropriate and accurate data, and providing all aspects of primary support to the provider.
    * Operate Q-Stress equipment, sphygmomanometer, Epic and Merge application with proficiency.
    *Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED required.
    *2 years of cardiac / medical experience required.
    * Must pass CCT within 1 year of hire date
    *Current BLS certification
    *Must have Completed Basic Arrhythmia course-must be obtained in 90 days if not current
    *Medical Assistant diploma plus 2-years cardiology experience in an outpatient clinic preferred
    *Previous MA -medical assistant advance experience preferred
    *Knowledge of complex cardiac rhythms and arrhythmias preferred
