We are recruiting candidates for a Distribution Designer I at our Parsons Service Center. Please find below a list of the minimum requirements for the position. It is important the candidates address their qualifications in the documentation submitted for consideration.

Distribution Designers "shall be qualified through knowledge, experience and training in drafting and effective layout of engineering drawings. They must possess general knowledge and basic map reading skills including "land descriptions" and basic surveying; must have basic clerical, bookkeeping, accounting and marketing knowledge; and must have personal characteristics suitable for making contact with customers and the public which are necessary in their line of work. Distribution Designers shall be qualified to produce electric job cost estimates including labor, material, equipment and overheads. This includes going to the field, drawing maps, use of Maximo, use of ARC Map, line construction standards, basic surveying and use of surveying equipment."

Education and Experience Requirements: High school diploma with 5+ years of experience in electrical or related work or Associate degree in Construction Science, Construction Technology, Engineering, or related field and 2+ years of experience is required. Preference given to candidates with Engineering degree (Engineering Technology, Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Construction Science, Mechanical Engineering) from an ABET accredited University.

Must possess a high school certificate or equivalent.
Must possess a valid driver's license.
Must successfully complete the EEI TECH Aptitude Test

Physical Requirements:
Must have the ability to perform the physical activities of the job (includes, but not limited to hearing, seeing, walking, talking, reading, typing, writing, color distinction, depth perception, working outside in adverse conditions, and lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds, etc.).

Working Conditions:
80% of work is performed in an office with 20% in the field. Occasional travel to other locations within the Company and overnight travel is required. Position requires work beyond normal working hours depending on workload, project deadlines, and service restoration efforts. Must have excellent work record, including performance evaluations, attendance and sick leave.
