Position Summary

The University of New Mexico (UNM) Early Childhood Services Center (ECSC) is seeking a full-time Programmer Analyst 2 to support the development, maintenance, and enhancement of ECSC's internal Intranet (ecsc.unm.edu), public website, and related web applications. Under direct supervision, this position provides professional-level systems analysis, programming, and application support in a custom Laravel environment. The Programmer Analyst will maintain the ECSC Intranet, troubleshoot and resolve bugs and system issues, implement upgrades, support repository code management, and contribute to ongoing improvements of internal systems including the Vault, Trainer Registry, Inventory Management, HelpDesk, and Program Depot. The ECSC Intranet is a custom Laravel 10 application (Nova 4) using Vue.js v3 as the front-end framework and PHP 8.1 as the backend environment, hosted on a Virtual Machine and supported via C-Panel. This position also supports the ECSC public-facing website using Cascade-L (UNM's Cascade CMS platform) and an additional WordPress-based website.

Duties and Responsibilities

* Maintain and support ECSC's internal Intranet (Laravel/Nova application).

* Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve bugs, performance issues, and user-reported system problems.

* Apply vendor-supplied upgrades and patches in a PHP 8.1 environment.

* Support Vault functionality, including permissions and access logic.

* Enhance sharing, visibility, filters, and action menu functionality.

* Monitor and manage hosting configurations using C-Panel.

* Support and maintain ECSC public website using Cascade-L (Cascade CMS).

* Maintain and update ECSC WordPress website, including plugins and themes.

* Analyze business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.

* Write, test, and troubleshoot code in PHP, Laravel, Vue.js, and JavaScript.

* Support database structure, queries, and performance optimization.

* Performs systems analysis and develops intermediate to advanced programming code.

* Provides on-call support and problem resolution for computer applications.

* Maintains current knowledge of relevant technology, programming skills, hardware, and applications. Participates in professional development activities as appropriate.

* Evaluates and tests new or modified software programs and software development procedures used to verify that programs function according to user requirements and conform to established guidelines and best practices.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree; at least 1 year of progressively responsible experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.

Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution and/or experience that is directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified may be interchangeable on a year-for-year basis.

* Experience with PHP, Laravel Framwork, Laravel+Nova, Vue.js, and JavaScript.

* Experience with Cascade CMS (Cascade-L).

* Experience with WordPress administration and plugin management.

* Experience managing applications in a C-Panel hosting environment.

* Experience with AI agent, MCP and LLM

* Database design and optimization experience (MySQL or similar).

* Experience working with version control and repository management.

* Working knowledge of SmartSheet.

* Experience troubleshooting user permissions and role-based access systems.

* Ability to communicate technical information to non-technical personnel.
