Department Information Georgia Tech Human Resources (GTHR) serves the Institute and its more than 14,000 employees through strategic counsel, employee engagement, and essential human capital management operations. As the people's unit, GTHR is engaged throughout the employee's lifetime at Georgia Tech. Our team works with sensitive employee information and assists in the management of complex employee issues. What we do: Process payroll and maintain employment data for approximately 14,000 active faculty, staff, and students Strive to attract, recruit, and retain the best talent in the marketplace. Provide immigration, labor, and tax support required for foreign national faculty and staff to work at Georgia Tech and support employees performing services overseas. Leverage a market-driven compensation structure to attract and retain employees. Advise employees and managers regarding work performance and conflict management. Tech Dining employs more than 300 staff members. Job Summary The HR Consultant position facilitates and coordinates the application of human resources policies and procedures for assigned campus unit(s). Coordinate implementation of new or revised human resources policies and programs within unit(s). This position will interact regularly with unit management and staff, the Talent Management Department (TMD), and the Office of Human Resources (OHR). This position typically will advise and counsel: unit management and staff. Responsibilities Job Duty 1 - Advise and assist unit management in the application of human resources policies and procedures. Job Duty 2 - Review and coordinate processing of transactions to initiate Human Resources Information System (HRIS) related to onboarding of new hires, offboarding, terminations, pay actions, promotions, data changes, etc. Job Duty 3 - Consult with the HR Consultant Sr. on all HR actions on a regular basis. Job Duty 4 - Coordinate and facilitate the processing of formal employee relations issues, investigations, disciplinary actions, and terminations in consultations with Employee Relations. Job Duty 5 - Perform other related duties as necessary. Job Duty 6 - Perform other duties as assigned. Required Qualifications Educational Requirements Bachelor's Degree in a related field or equivalent combination of education and experience Required Experience Four to five years of job-related experience Preferred Qualifications Preferred Educational Qualifications Master's Degree Additional Preferred Qualifications Demonstrated experience managing high-volume recruitment across multiple roles Proven expertise in employee relations, including handling sensitive and confidential matters Ability to adapt quickly and effectively in a fast-paced, evolving, and often ambiguous environment PHR/SPHR certification Proposed Salary Pay Range: $65,000-$80,000/yr. Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities SKILLS This job requires a working knowledge of institutional human resources policies and procedures as applied at the unit level, as well as related regulations. Interpersonal skills and spoken and written communication skills are required, as is the use of specialized office and HR computer applications.
