Job Summary

The Executive Advisor V provides enterprise-level strategic leadership and serves as a senior advisor to the Chief Human Resources Officer and executive leadership on matters related to People & Culture Strategy and HR Transformation across UCSF.

Building on the advisory and programmatic scope of an Executive Advisor IV, this role is distinguished by ownership and stewardship of the enterprise People & Culture Strategy, with accountability for aligning people, leadership, and culture priorities across all UCSF Health business units. The Executive Advisor V operates on behalf of the enterprise to ensure consistent direction, governance, and execution across the four key dimensions of strategy, structure, systems, and skills.

In addition to executive advising, the role leads and manages complex, cross-enterprise initiatives in support of HR Transformation, translating strategic intent into sustainable operating mechanisms, leadership expectations, and measurable outcomes. The Executive Advisor V also plays a critical role in articulating and elevating the impact of the HR organization, partnering with leaders to define success measures, translate outcomes into clear narratives, and communicate how HR initiatives drive organizational performance, culture, and mission outcomes. Works closely with People Analytics teams and HR functions to communicate impact and insights.

The position functions with a high degree of autonomy and influence, providing expert guidance on organizational effectiveness, culture change, and workforce implications of major institutional initiatives, and representing the CHRO's office in advancing enterprise-wide people and culture priorities.

Serves as lead strategist and has broad level authority to represent the organization with constituencies. Provides direct policy and communications expertise, collaborating with senior executives on short- and long-range planning. Participates on committees, task forces responding to a variety of issues and handling sensitive negotiations with little or no precedence, requiring expedient and diplomatic action. Applies breadth and depth of institutional knowledge to develop sound long and short term strategic plans and build relationships with key constituencies and stakeholders. Identifies, formulates and advises on policy development and implementation. Exercises judgment in selecting methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results. Internal and external contacts often pertain to organizational plans and objectives. Is considered a subject matter expert within the organization and often recognized as an expert externally in the industry.

The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy.

Your placement within the salary range is dependent on a number of factors including your work experience and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF. For positions that are represented by a labor union, placement within the salary range will be guided by the rules in the collective bargaining agreement.

The salary range for this position is $216,000 - $343,900 (Annual Rate).
