Overview

What You Will Do

As an ETS Systems Administrator, you will be responsible for building, configuring, and maintaining virtual machines, Windows servers, and industrial-grade computing environments that support control system deployments. You will work closely with project engineers and network specialists to deliver secure, reliable, and consistent system platforms for industrial automation solutions across a range of industries.

A Typical Day at Prime Controls

    Set up and configure Windows Server and client operating systems in accordance with project and cybersecurity requirements
  • Build and maintain virtual environments (VMware, Hyper-V, Nutanix) for control system projects
  • Install and configure backup solutions, antivirus software, and endpoint protection tools
  • Manage Active Directory configurations including users, groups, GPOs, and security settings
  • Create standardized virtual machine templates and documentation for repeatable deployments
  • Apply operating system patches and updates based on customer and security compliance needs
  • Collaborate with ETS Network Specialists to integrate systems into control network topologies
  • Troubleshoot hardware and software issues during FAT, SAT, and commissioning support
  • Prepare and maintain documentation including configuration guides, IP assignments, and support records
  • Support cybersecurity hardening efforts, including system lockdowns and baseline image control

What You Will Bring

The Basic

  • 3+ years of experience in systems administration or IT support, ideally in an industrial or project-based environment
  • Proficiency with Windows Server and client OS platforms
  • Experience with virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V, etc.)
  • Familiarity with Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and Group Policy
  • Strong troubleshooting skills and an ability to work independently and within cross-functional teams
  • Excellent organizational and documentation habits
  • Service-oriented attitude eager to learn and support a multi-disciplinary, diverse team

The Preferred

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field
  • Relevant certifications (CompTIA Server+, Microsoft MCSA, VMware VCP, etc.)
  • Scripting proficiency (PowerShell, Python, Bash, etc.)
  • Experience with building and quoting server, endpoint, and storage configurations (Dell Configurator, SuperMicro Configurator, CDW, etc.)
  • Familiarity with container technologies (Dockers, Kubernetes, etc.)
  • Experience working with OT or control system infrastructure and SCADA applications
  • Familiarity with industrial cybersecurity frameworks and secure configuration practices
  • Familiarity with enterprise storage (Dell PowerVault/Store, HPE Nimble, Pure, QNAP, vSAN, Nutanix, etc.)
