Essential Job Duties
This temporary position will be responsible for maintaining a clean and sanitary hospital through routine stall/cage maintenance, hospital cleaning and disinfection, and waste removal. Restrain and provide basic husbandry for equine and farm animal patients. Small animal hospital backup, same duties.

Work Schedule Sat - Tues, 1:00 PM - 12 am, varies with occasional holiday coverage as needed.

Minimum Experience/Education
High School diploma or equivalent. Demonstrated experience in the handling and restraint of equine patients, including mares with foals, pregnant mares, and stallions, as well as othr farm animals. Proficiency in animal husbandry practices, cleaning and disinfection protocols, and basic facility maintneance skills are also required.
Department Required Skills
Must be able to lift up to 70 pounds.

Ability to operate equipment such as forklifts, pressure
washers, and basic power tools.

Responsible for inventory management and accurately measuring and diluting chemicals according to established guidelines.

Demonstrates safe, humane handling of all patients at all times.

Must communicate effectively, work collaboratively within a team, and comply with all institutional policies and procedures, including safety requirements.

Ability to commute to Reedy Creek Equine Farm to provide care.
Preferred Years Experience, Skills, Training, Education
Experience in restraining and providing husbandry care for equine and Farm Animal
species is required.

Preferred qualifications include prior experience working in a veterinary
setting, working knowledge of infectious disease control programs, and familiarity with
established safety programs.

Candidates should demonstrate compliance with OSHA standards and awareness of veterinary accreditation and certification guidelines such as AAHA, AVMA, and related regulatory bodies.
