POSITION SPECIFICS

The Population Research Institute (PRI) within the Social Science Research Institute (SSRI) seeks to hire a Research Project Manager to support PRI's NICHD P2C infrastructure grant. In this role, the Research Project Manager will be responsible for delivering on the strategic mission of the current grant.

This position will be filled at the Research Project Manager - Professional or Intermediate Professional level based upon the successful candidate's education and relevant experience.

Responsibilities: Primary job responsibilities include the following:

  • Supporting the PRI grant from the Eunice Kennedy Shriver National Institute of Child Health and Human Development (NICHD) to focus on project deliverables.
  • Oversee and manage the day-to-day functions of the grant to include workflow processes, data collection and management, and the creation and revision of procedures.
  • Plan and administer project budgets to ensure alignment with key priorities. Utilize SIMBA and other systems to collect information and develop reports within the PRI portfolio. Collaborate with various financial staff to ensure accurate financial reporting.
  • Lead meetings within PRI as well as internal and external advisory boards. Develop agendas, create and track project milestones and deliverables, create and maintain project documentation, and design reports and visuals to communicate research findings to a wide range of audiences.
  • Administer PRI seed grants. Create and track expenses, ensure compliance with protocols, and create reports for leadership.
  • Support the overall administrative needs of PRI. May assist in the employment process for students, post docs, and staff. Serve as a point of contact for faculty, staff, and all stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with PRI leadership on strategic planning initiatives. May report on current goals and progress and assist with new initiatives.

The position requires a person who can work independently but also function as part of a larger management team. Experience with Worklion, SIMBA and other Penn State systems are preferred. Prior research administration/project management experience is desirable.

SALARY & BENEFITS

The salary range for this position, including all possible grades, is $56,200.00 - $89,600.00.
