Description

The Documentation Specialist / Proposal Writer is responsible for maintaining documentation standards across all King Aerospace entities and supporting the development and submission of compliant proposals to the Department of Defense, other government agencies, and commercial customers within the aviation industry. This role ensures consistency, accuracy, and compliance across proposal materials, operational documentation, and related business development content.



ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES



  • Develop, maintain, and standardize company documentation, including the creation of new forms and documents and the revision of existing materials.
  • Maintain and enforce documentation standards in accordance with the King Aerospace Proposal Handbook and related guidelines.
  • Maintain and update Operations Manuals for all company locations.
  • Write, format, edit, and coordinate proposal content to support compliant submissions to government and commercial customers.
  • Maintain organizational charts and related corporate documentation across all companies.
  • Manage configuration control of proposal-related files, forms, graphics, drafts, reviewer comments, and approvals within company SharePoint systems.
  • Support the development and ongoing enhancement of the King Aerospace Information Management System.
  • Assist with the preparation, maintenance, and updating of position descriptions.
  • Develop and maintain professional presentation materials, including PowerPoint presentations.
  • Provide administrative support for front desk and business development activities, as needed.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE




  • Bachelor's degree in English, Communications, or a related field required.
  • A minimum of two (2) years of experience in proposal writing, technical writing, business writing, or editing required.
  • Aviation industry experience is preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects under deadline, with strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
  • Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams and working with proposal templates or response management tools is preferred.



COMMUNICATION SKILLS



Ability to produce clear, accurate, and well-structured written documentation, including technical and proposal materials. Ability to proofread and edit documents for accuracy, consistency, and compliance. Ability to communicate effectively and professionally in verbal and written formats with internal stakeholders and external partners.



MATHAMATICAL SKILLS



Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations related to proposal development and administrative tasks.



REASONING AND PROBLEM-SOLVING SKILLS



Ability to define problems, gather and analyze information, and draw sound conclusions. Ability to apply creative and analytical problem-solving approaches to documentation and proposal development projects.



COMPUTER SKILLS



Proficiency with job-related software and systems, including Microsoft Office applications and Adobe Acrobat. Ability to organize, manage, and maintain documentation in shared electronic environments.



OTHER QUALIFICATIONS




  • Valid driver's license required.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Secret security clearance, as required.
