Overview

The Senior Analyst will partner with operating areas to develop, track, and manage operational and financial plans. The Senior Analyst will create and perform analyses to help identify improved ways to manage costs and support forward-looking decision-making by operating areas.

Responsibilities

Core Responsibilities
  • Develops and enters budget information into Oracle ePBCS.
  • Develops financial forecasts and challenges forecast assumptions along with work plan requirements.
  • Communicates and presents monthly performance to senior management and key customers, challenges, forecast assumptions, and provides recommendations for improvement.
  • Provide stakeholders with monthly variance analysis and commentary, trend analysis, and corrective action plans.
  • Review the capital optimization and governance process (including preparation of governance meeting materials and use of PI360).
  • Evaluate spend driver tracking through maintenance, analysis, and communication of weekly data.
  • Identifies opportunities to create value-added analyses to support customers in decision-making.
  • Assists in rate case filing and regulatory reporting and helps prepare relevant documentation.
  • Develops and analyzes financial and work management information utilizing data visualization applications to support critical business decisions.
  • Perform other related tasks and assignments as required.

Qualifications

Required Education/Experience
  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, Data Analytics, or other relevant degree and 3 years of relevant of experience or
  • Master's Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Data Analytics, Business or other relevant degree and 2 years of relevant work experience
Preferred Education/Experience
  • Master's Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Data Analytics, Business, or other relevant degree and 2 years of relevant work experience
Relevant Work Experience
  • Demonstrated strong quantitative and presentation skills, required.
  • Understanding of ConEds business (e.g., services provided, current events) and FP&A function (e.g., objective, role, deliverables), required.
  • Proficient use of Microsoft Office and budgeting tools (e.g., Oracle Suite), required.
  • Understanding of accounting principles (e.g., income statement, balance sheet), required.
  • Demonstrated critical thinking capabilities and proactive qualities, required.
  • Strong verbal, written, and presentation skills, required.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence decision making, required.
  • Familiarity with data visualization and manipulation tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI), required.
  • Familiarity with work management systems (e.g., WMS, Maximo), preferred.
Licenses and Certifications
  • Driver's License Required
Additional Physical Demands
  • The selected candidate will be assigned a System Emergency Assignment (i.e., an emergency response role) and will be expected to work non-business hours during emergencies, which may include nights, weekends, and holidays.
