Contractor - Document Control As-Built Technician

THIS IS A CONTRACT POSITION.

To facilitate best practices related to verification of redline drawings, CAD drafting of redlined updates into master drawings, the protection of business-controlled documents.

Essential Job Responsibilities:

  • Use computer-aided design software (CAD) to capture red-to-black drawing revisions based on customer submittals
  • Convert sketches and drawings from engineers into detailed technical drawings for projects involving structural, mechanical, electrical (and other systems).
  • Pull and compare Impact Reports for concurrent engineering
  • Research and review for associated drawings/documents affected by change
  • Maintains currency of knowledge with respect to relevant state-of-the-art technology, equipment, and/or systems.
  • Facilitate the proper care, custody, and control of engineering drawing and document information.
  • Maintain integrity and quality of engineering standards.
  • Update and maintain EDRMS to reflect current revisions.
  • Engage relevant discipline and field personnel to establish and promote consistency and best practices.
  • Provide customer support and training on As-Built procedures and standards.
  • Identify, document, and provide input to management towards the continued development of the As-Built program (procedures, processes, templates, applications, etc.)
  • Collect and provide transactional data as required to support the management of budget and expenditures.
  • Collect and provide information to support compliance audits.
  • Gather statistical data (document control metrics) to support project requests.
  • Train and mentor fellow As-Built Technicians and support personnel.

Qualifications:

  • Three (3) years minimum experience as a drafter of oil and gas engineering drawings.
  • On-site field experience (preferred)
  • Possess demonstrable experience of greenfield and brownfield projects/stages; engineering and vendor document management, as-built, and technical close-out.
  • Proven ability to proficiently complete multiple, diverse tasks of differing priorities without close supervision.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to accurately solve problems.
  • Highly competent interpersonal and influencing skills to tactfully and diplomatically manage ambiguity, conflict and uncertainty in a culturally diverse environment.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, supervisors, and other departments.
  • Ability to perform tasks and achieve results with a high degree of accuracy and precision.
  • Excellent administrative and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in the use and application of the following software:
    • Required: Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook)
    • SharePoint
    • Advanced knowledge of CAD and AutoCAD software

Education Requirements:

  • Required: Associates Degree in Applied Science in Technical Drafting from an accredited two-year college. Or, Minimum 3 years of experience in a same-level role.

Certifications, Licenses, Registrations:

  • CAD Certification Preferred
