The Role

The News Service of Florida is looking for a Publisher to join our team. You will serve as the senior revenue leader for the organization, responsible for meeting the revenue strategy and execution across advertising, sponsorships, custom content, and events. The ideal candidate is a hands-on seller and strategic closer who understands how to monetize government-focused audiences.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for directly selling all Florida media and events
  • Set and achieve revenue targets across large-scale subscriptions, advertising, sponsorships, events, and digital products
  • Personally drive high-value sales, renewals, and multi-platform sponsorship deals
  • Build long-term partnerships with solution providers, associations, and vendors serving Florida government
  • Package and price integrated offerings (digital, print, events, newsletters, sponsored content, subscriptions)
  • Identify new verticals, accounts, and revenue opportunities within the Florida public-sector market
  • Identify prospects and close sales for group paid subscriptions
  • Drive sponsorship and exhibitor revenue for conferences, summits, and roundtables
  • Serve as the primary relationship owner for top Florida accounts
  • Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and client meetings

Qualifications

  • 7+ years of experience in B2B sales leadership, media sales, sponsorship sales, or events revenue in government, policy, or public-sector media
  • Proven track record of meeting or exceeding revenue targets
  • Experience selling integrated advertising and sponsorship packages
  • Strong understanding of Florida's government or public-sector marketplace
  • Excellent negotiation, presentation, and closing skills
  • Conference and event sponsorship sales

The compensation range for this role is $90,000 to $140,000, including commission potential.
