INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY SPECIALIST II $8,625.00 - $11,557.00 per Month Final Filing Date: Job Description and Duties
Under the general direction of the Information Technology Manager (ITM) I, of the Enterprise Services Office) in the Information Technology (IT) Services Division (Division) within the Department of Cannabis Control (Department), the Information Technology Specialist II will be responsible for aligning the technical environment with strategic business needs to iterate on applications based on user research, ensuring high performance, accessibility, and coding using modern web standards. The incumbent will serve as a secondary technical owner and continuity resource for critical web applications, infrastructure, and automation workflows to ensure uninterrupted operations and knowledge redundancy. The incumbent will design, develop, test, and maintain custom software applications, including but not limited to full-stack web development (front-end and back-end), JavaScript frameworks such as React and Next.js, WordPress, and both NoSQL and relational database systems including MongoDB, MySQL, and Microsoft SQL Server. In addition to web development, the incumbent will assist in the configuration, customization, and integration of enterprise service productivity platforms, including developing workflows, forms, and automation that may require scripting or coding. The incumbent will also be responsible for daily maintenance and operational tasks for the Department's website and other custom-developed web applications, including vulnerability management, patching, and software subscriptions renewal. The incumbent will research, document, and modify software specifications throughout the software delivery life cycle. This position is in the System Engineering domain.
