$43.97 - $65.93

POSITION SUMMARY:

This position will be responsible for analysis, maintenance, and management and of all third-party agreements and their records in support of the institution's Legal Affairs department.

ESSENTIAL POSITION FUNCTIONS:

Manage and track third party agreements through their entire contract lifecycle, from initial intake, review, and execution through to recurring reporting, renewals, and termination.

Review, draft, redline, negotiate, and advise on a wide variety of contractual documents to ensure compliance with the standards set in company policies, procedures, checklists and playbooks, including both new third party agreements for new purchases as well as existing contracts for recurring due diligence.

Update and maintain a comprehensive and up-to-date centralized database of contracts, including creating new records, reviewing contract records to check for accuracy and consistency with department standards, monitoring of contract renewals and expirations, and archival of inactive contracts.

Accurately answer questions and requests from attorneys, paralegals, business departments and external vendors related to third party contracts, processes, and procedures.

Communicate with business departments to notify them of upcoming expirations and assist with renewals or termination.

Generate and prepare recurring reports (including monthly summary reports, escalation reports, and expiration reports) and perform follow-up tasks needed to resolve matters identified in such reports.

Develop, refine, and implement procedures, additional reporting & tracking metrics to continually improve record keeping and overall operational efficiency.

Provide general Legal Affairs department support to attorneys and other paralegals, including research assistance, special projects, and ad hoc assignments.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

High School Diploma or Equivalent Experience required.

Previous financial industry and customer service experience preferred.

Bachelor's Degree, Paralegal Certification, or equivalent education.

Minimum of 5 years of paralegal, compliance, procurement, or third party management with direct involvement in contracts.

Hands-on experience in independently conducting legal contract review and drafting redlines.

Knowledge of common contractual clauses and an understanding of fundamental contract law principles.

Knowledge of relevant laws including California Consumer Privacy Act and Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act.

Effective and professional communication skills, both written and oral.

Strong reading comprehension, grammar, writing, and language skills.

Ability to complete all essential job functions with high level of accuracy.

Detail-oriented, good organizational skills, and the ability to be flexible while working in a time-constrained environment.

Proven ability to work with and motivate others.

Professional conduct and appearance.

COMPUTER SKILLS:

Proficient in Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, Outlook). Must be proficient in technology applications including the Credit Union's operating system and specialized software required for performance of position.

Experience using a contract management software, customer relationship management software, or vendor management software is preferred.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. Ability to compute rates, ratios and percentages.

Experience in or ability to build information models.
