Job Description

The Drug Information Center at the UMKC School of Pharmacy is a multi-faceted center which provides client groups - consumers, health-care professionals, and institutions - with drug information and evidence-based recommendations to optimize pharmaceutical care. We ensure our clinical decision support services are unbiased, clear, and based in reputable evidence.

The Drug Information Center is seeking two candidates for a full-time Drug Information Resident. Appointment duration is July 01, 2026 thru June 30, 2027.

The Drug Information Residency is a customized program that prepares participants for careers encompassing drug information, specifically the practice of evidence-based decision making in a pharmacy practice setting.

Located within the UMKC School of Pharmacy, the Drug Information Center provides services to state governmental agencies, hospitals and other contractual clients. These services include evidence-based medical analyses, drug information, newsletters and other medical writing requests that will optimize pharmaceutical care. In addition, the Drug Information Call Center provides drug information throughout the calendar year, excluding major holidays, and is available to the public and health-care providers.

Through our contracts, residents oversee and conduct clinical formulary management reviews monthly and quarterly. Residents serve as adjunct faculty, which allows them to assist with coordination of the Evidence Based Medicine course as well as precept their own APPE students monthly.

Opportunities include:

  • Manage the call center
  • Publish research in a peer-reviewed journal with the support of faculty
  • Participation in the Residency Teaching Certificate Program
  • Exposure to a variety of business administrative experiences

Full-time (1.0 FTE), benefit-eligible, unranked, non-tenure track academic position. Contract is 12 months beginning Summer 2026.
