The Credit Analyst is responsible for the timely collection of outstanding accounts receivables balances, customer and vendor credit reviews, as well as ensuring the timely and accurate daily processing of invoices, debit, and credit memos. Additionally, supports the design and implementation of AR focused process improvements and enhanced technology utilization.

What You Do. General / Regular Processing
- Incorporate best practices within the collections field to effectively communicate with our customers to secure payment of open overdue invoices for all Corporate entities and Divisions under Sargento Foods Inc. including Sargento Transportation, LLC.
- Routinely contact customers regarding overdue invoices and escalate any significant issues to the Associate Manager and the Sr. Offer to Cash Manager.
- Identify customers who are paying outside of our payment terms and professionally educate them about our Terms & Conditions, and request compliance.
- Complete credit reviews for suppliers requested by the Procurement team and evaluate current vetting processes to propose improvements that strengthen supplier risk management and onboarding efficiency.
- Perform credit evaluations for new and existing customers, including financial statement analysis, payment history review, and risk assessment to support sound credit decisions.
- Update the daily Collection Report with the results of customer contacts, and review weekly with leadership.
- Ensure timely and accurate daily processing of invoices, debit, and credit memos and bill out to customers.
- Process miscellaneous invoices as needed, includes Milk Invoicing process, billing for freight claims and other various charges.
- Investigate customer inquiries regarding billing discrepancies, identify root cause and resolve.
- Process backhaul invoices for Sargento Transportation, LLC weekly, or more frequently if needed.
- Collaborate with customers to facilitate conversion to electronic payment processing as needed.
- Maintain knowledge of common concepts, practices and procedures within the Collections and Accounts Receivable fields.
- Maintain excellent customer service with prompt and courteous responses to internal and external customers.
- Communicate with the appropriate personnel in Sales, Customer Service, IT, Logistics and Accounting to resolve customer inquiries and issues.
- Dedicate time to continual learning of the cash application role to effectively provide backup and identify process improvement opportunities
- Maintain strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and SAP.
Analytic Support / Process Improvement
- Maintain up to date job responsibilities SOPs in Box.
- Respond to and organize documentation supporting both internal/external audit requests.
- Assist the Associate Manager in identifying and implementing collections and accounts receivable process improvements and associated system enhancements.
- Assist with related special projects as needed.
Your Education and Experience.
- BBA or BS in Finance or Accounting. Two to four years' experience and/or training is preferred.
