The Procurement Coordinator is responsible for a wide variety of statistical, expediting, and coordinating duties related to the purchasing functions. They are accountable for coordinating and and expediting of incoming material in accordance with production/finished product requirements and maintaining sufficient inventory of materials from outside vendors to ensure all requirements are met. In addition, this position will provide other support to Procurement including SAP reports, and other general data reporting.

What You Do.



  • Act as the primary coordinator for raw material status on all production orders that have a material availability tag attached to it.
  • Originate purchase orders as needed based on current or forecasted demand.
  • Coordinate and expedite delivery of materials to all Sargento plants.
  • Communicate any changes in expected delivery date, quantity or location to production, traffic/receiving in a timely manner.
  • Follow-up with suppliers concerning late deliveries and communicate to production planning and procurement buyers.
  • As needed process non-conformances and holds from Sargento plants for materials and coordinate the supplier responses and return of material when applicable. Mail non-conformance samples to suppliers. Generate report summaries.
  • Track suppliers' non-conformances, on-time deliveries, and volumes as required.
  • Compile, consolidate, compute data, and create charts for projects.
  • Perform tactical duties of Sargento Buyers and other Procurement Coordinators during their absence.
  • Coordinate, expedite delivery, and communicate status of material sample requests for R&D.
  • Request and process documentation, along with additional information needed by Regulatory, and pricing for ingredient test materials.


Your Education and Experience.



  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) is required.
  • 2 years of relevant experience in Procurement, Manufacturing, or an Administrative office environment is preferred.
  • Strong computer skills are necessary, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook. SAP skills are helpful, but not required.
  • Due to extensive communication with suppliers and other internal employees, strong interpersonal, problem solving, and reasoning skills are required.
