We can't wait to hear your story. We're seeking a fulltime Human Resources Generalist to join our collaborative HR team. The ideal candidate brings a service mindset, strong knowledge of Oregon and Washington employment regulations, and a handson, team-oriented approach in supporting leaders and staff. This role helps shape the employee experience, from onboarding to benefits to wellness, and plays a meaningful part in supporting the people who care for our patients every day. Employment Type: Full-Time (40 Hours; Monday-Friday) Location: On-site at our Compass Business Office (Vancouver, Washington) Salary: $80,168 - $109,009 salaried **Final offer amounts are determined by a review of the candidate's applicable experience and qualifications, as well as, internal employee equity considerations. SCOPE: This role functions as a broad HR generalist delivering daytoday, serviceoriented support across the full employee lifecycle, with deeper responsibility in onboarding, leave and accommodations, benefits administration, and wellness initiatives. It manages core HR operations including HRIS data maintenance, employee records, engagement activities, recognition programs, and internal communications. The role serves as a key resource to managers and staff and helps ensure a consistent, compliant, and employeecentered HR experience.
Responsibilities
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provides frontline HR support and consultation to managers and staff on human resource programs, policies, and HRrelated activities, including employee onboarding, employee relations, performance management, dispute resolution, compliance and integrity, and policy administration in accordance with applicable state and federal laws.
- Administers Leave of Absence, workplace accommodations and workers' compensation in accordance with current regulations, policies, and procedures. Supports team members by determining eligibility, maintaining regular communication, retrieving required documentation, coordinating reasonable accommodations, and facilitating the ReturntoWork process.
- Provides local benefits administration and employee support, including eligibility guidance, enrollment assistance, life event processing, and coordination with the network benefits team for complex issues.
- Performs HRIS employee maintenance and records management, including processing employee data changes, ensuring data accuracy and compliance, maintaining digital personnel files, supporting reporting needs, and partnering with the HRIS team on system updates and process improvements.
- Coordinates the welcoming and onboarding of new employees, including completion of required documents, review of benefits and insurance options, and orientation to Compass policies and culture.
- Develops and implements employee engagement initiatives and activities. Coordinates Employee Recognition programs, Service Awards, and other recognitionbased events.
- Works with Marketing to produce the monthly employee newsletter, ensuring timely content, employee highlights, and organizational updates.
- Investigates employee relations concerns; identifies issues, facts, policy violations, and cultural or valuesbased impacts; and recommends solutions and pathways to resolution.
- Conducts exit interviews, summarizes key themes, monitors for trends or recurring issues, and prepares concise summaries to inform leadership and support continuous improvement efforts.
- Provides HR support to the Compass Safety Committee and employee safety initiatives. Oversees occupational health requirements such as immunization tracking and maintenance of health records.
- Supports the Compass Employee Wellness program, including coordinating annual biometric screening events and other wellnessrelated activities.
- May periodically travel to Compass locations within the Portland metropolitan area to support onsite HR needs.
- Performs other HR duties as assigned.
Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS
- BS/BA in Human Resources, Business, or related field; or a combination of education and relevant experience.
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive Human Resources experience; healthcare experience a plus!
- Working knowledge of employment law, benefits administration, leave of absence and accommodation administration, HR policies and practices, and HRIS data management.
- SHRMCP or PHR certification preferred.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Teams, Word, Outlook, Excel); Workday experience highly desired.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively across all levels of the organization.
- Demonstrated teamwork, empathy, and customerservice mindset.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Ability to maintain the highest standards of professionalism, judgment, maturity, personal integrity, and confidentiality.
