Position Summary

PLEASE NOTE: This position is for the UNM-Gallup Branch,
located in Gallup, NM, approximately 138 miles west of Albuquerque, NM.

The University of New Mexico Gallup Branch, Allied
Technologies & Allied Health Sciences Division, is seeking a qualified
temporary part-time faculty member to teach lower division classes in various
courses or topics as specified above. UNM Gallup instructors are responsible
for all aspects of any class they are teaching including but not limited to meeting
face-to-face with the class during assigned times that may include evenings or
weekends, content delivery, assignment development, grading assignments,
reporting of grades, and assessment of student learning as outlined by the
division chair. Hired adjunct faculty will be teaching face-to-face and/or
develop lower division courses (100/200 Level) beginning the Spring 2026
semester in the following potential discipline:

HEALTH COURSES:
HCHT 121 Health Information Technology
HCHT 211 Basic ICD/CPT Coding
HCHT 221 Medical-Legal & Quality Management


Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree plus any one of the following certifications, CCS, CCS-P, CPC, RHIT, RHIA

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree
  • Teaching experience at the university level
  • Membership to AAPC or AHIMA
  • Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity,
    inclusion, and student success as well as working with broadly diverse communities
