Reporting to the Plant Manager, the Supply Chain Manager is responsible for tracking business process flow from order receipt through finished good shipment. Oversight includes production & capacity planning, scheduling, and transportation for the plant. This role will develop systems and visual audits to track & forecast capacity, understand raw material consumption, and provide accurate project costing. The incumbent is a partner with Operations, facilitating efficient production flow through the plant, ensuring favorable OTD, and helping develop performance metrics.

What does a Supply Chain Manager do?

  • Develops systems and visual metrics to track & forecast capacity.
  • Maintains running log of order volume & flow through the facility.
  • Owns the overall transactional business processes of the plant.
  • Oversees all shipping and receiving
  • Populates plant schedule and assigns required operations.
  • Prepares jobs for invoicing-final check to ensure all material has been issued, subcontract PO's have been received, and all material has shipped at time of final shipment.
  • Partners with the functional owners of leadership
  • Owns pricing and plant quoting of all custom requests.
  • Supports best practices to improve productivity, quality, service, security, and efficiency of the supply chain function.
  • Creates, updates, and maintains standard work process documentation.
  • Partners with production and project managers in project reviews.
  • Attends and participates in all required company training.
  • Conforms to all company policies and procedures.
  • Commits to and follows the facility Mission, Vision, and Values that support the company's Operating Principles.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain, business administration, manufacturing technology, logistics or 5 years of equivalent work experience in a manufacturing environment in lieu of a degree is required.
  • 5+ years of experience in supply chain of a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience in inventory management and flow through the system.
  • Experience in planning and executing purchasing strategies.
  • Experience managing and directing a small staff of employees.
  • Advanced level computer skills including knowledge of Microsoft Office applications and Power BI.

Plant Environment - This position operates in a manufacturing setting and can be subject to extreme cold and hot temperatures; uneven walking surfaces with cords, tools, and other obstacles; intermittent loud noises; and dusty or dirty conditions. Required PPE includes hard hat (when required), safety glasses, earplugs, steel toe/composite boots, and fall protection.
