Location: Located in Lancaster, PA Headquarters

The Transportation Coordinator is responsible for planning, coordinating, and overseeing the day-to-day transportation activities to ensure the timely, efficient, and cost-effective delivery of goods. This role involves working closely with carriers, internal departments, and external customers to maintain high levels of service while ensuring compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Collaborate with customer service and plant logistics team to address and resolve delivery-related inquiries or complaints.
  • Assist in maintaining transportation records, reports, and documentation in compliance with company policies and regulatory standards.
  • Coordinate with logistic providers to establish relationships
  • Identifies areas for process improvement within transportation and propose actionable solutions to drive operational efficiency
  • Demonstrate strong prioritization skills, effectively managing workload and deadlines to meet organizational objectives
  • Understands, Interprets, updates and maintains Policies and Procedures
  • Support across all logistics modes, including OTR, warehouse space, equipment leases, rail, TL, LTL, small pack and international logistics
  • Support the use of transportation management systems (TMS) for accurate freight tendering, rating, and accrual processes
  • Exercises decision-making capabilities to quickly and effectively resolve customer issues resulting in customer satisfaction
  • required for claims resolution and appropriate escalation to management for approval.
  • Process Spot Quotes as needed
  • Proactively offers support during peak times, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability to meet fluctuating workload demands
  • Partners with the internal Claims team to identify Transportation related claims and follow up with partner carriers relating to Transportation claims
  • Draft and file new Transportation Vendor contracts electronically-maintain current contracts to include storage cleanup and filing
  • Maintain online database for all current future and expired carrier information
  • Completes other duties assigned by the Transportation Manager

Education and/or Experience

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 4+ years of related experience required

Competencies

  • Previous TMS, SAP, and Salesforce Experience
  • Microsoft Office
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills, with the ability to present solutions clearly and concisely
  • Proven ability to work under pressure
  • Experience in desktop software applications, including Excel and all Microsoft Office
  • Ability to interact with all levels with customers, 3rd party providers and internal stakeholders
