We are seeking a Location Quality Control Manager for County Prestress & Precast, LLC at Lockport, IL.

Job Summary:

The Location Quality Control Manager leads quality assurance activities for concrete manufacturing operations, ensuring products meet industry standards and customer specifications. This role supervises Quality Control staff, manages concrete mix designs, and partners with production and engineering teams to resolve quality issues, support compliance, and drive continuous improvement.

Job Duties:


  • Supervise, mentor, and train Quality Control Technicians
  • Assign daily responsibilities and ensure adherence to quality standards and procedures
  • Perform and oversee quality inspections, checks, and testing throughout all stages of production
  • Ensure compliance with PCI, ACI, ASTM, and internal quality standards
  • Produce concrete samples and participate in mockup panel casting as required
  • Oversee accelerated curing practices and evaluate concrete performance
  • Coordinate with the Plant Foreman to align production schedules and resolve quality-related issues
  • Work closely with the Batch Plant Operator to manage mix quantities and delivery timing
  • Communicate with engineers regarding drawings, specifications, and technical concerns
  • Maintain and optimize concrete mix designs to balance cost, performance, and quality
  • Observe production processes including setup, casting, stripping, and storage to identify improvement opportunities
  • Collaborate with production teams to resolve quality issues and improve outcomes
  • Prepare, maintain, and submit quality control inspection documentation and reports
  • Record inspection observations and provide recommendations for process improvements
  • Maintain housekeeping standards to ensure a safe, organized, and compliant workplace


Work Environment:


  • Manufacturing and plant environment
  • High noise levels; hearing protection may be required
  • Combination of office and production floor settings


Physical Requirements:


  • Ability to sit, stand, walk, talk, and hear regularly
  • Occasional lifting and/or moving up to 25 pounds
  • Ability to work safely in an active manufacturing environment


Experience & Qualifications:


  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred; post-secondary education preferred
  • 6-8 years of experience in a quality control role
  • Concrete plant and/or concrete quality control experience required
  • Experience in the construction and/or building materials industry required
  • Ability to interpret shop drawings and job specifications
  • Solid math aptitude and analytical skills
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills
  • ACI Field Technician Level 1 certification required
  • PCI Level II certification required; Level III preferred
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and basic computer systems
