Physical Security Analyst

Cooley is seeking a Physical Security Analyst to join the Security team.

Position summary: Cooley Technology embraces a culture of customer service excellence, and all members of the department are expected to move this agenda forward. To that end, the Physical Security Analyst will be a critical member of the firm's physical security team, primarily responsible for the management, administration, and daily operation of the firm's global access control and video surveillance systems. This hands-on role ensures the safety and security of all global office locations by maintaining system integrity, managing access credentials, and rapidly responding to system-related issues. The Analyst will utilize deep expertise in the Genetec platform to manage physical access and provide timely security information to firm leadership and local office teams. Specific duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

Position responsibilities:

  • Serve as a platform administrator for the Genetec Security Center platform, including both Security Desk and Config Tool applications
  • Manage the entire access control lifecycle for all employees, contractors, and visitors across Cooley's global footprint
  • Provide end user troubleshooting and support by diagnosing and resolving platform issues related to access control and video surveillance, coordinating with local technology and physical security vendors as necessary
  • Facilitate incident response support by monitoring, managing, and responding to system alarms, alerts, and access-related incidents.
  • Assist in the investigation of security events by accurately exporting and reviewing video footage and access logs
  • Develop and execute standard and custom reports on access activity, alarm history, and system health for audit purposes, regulatory compliance, and management review
  • Maintain comprehensive and up-to-date documentation of system configurations, operational procedures, and troubleshooting guides
  • All other duties as assigned or required

Skills and experience:

Required:

  • After orientation at Cooley LLP, exhibit proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite, iManage and other firm applications
  • Ability to work extended and/or weekend hours, as required
  • Ability to travel, as required
  • 4+ years directly applicable experience (e.g., administering and managing enterprise-level physical security systems). Senior candidates must have 5+ years' direct applicable experience.
  • Strong understanding of access control system components (panels, readers, credentials, locking hardware) and CCTV/VMS technology
  • Experience facilitating security operations across multiple, geographically dispersed locations
  • Excellent technical troubleshooting skills for both hardware and software issues within a physical security environment

Preferred:

  • Bachelor's degree in information technology, security management, or related discipline
  • Formal Genetec certification (e.g., Genetec Certified System Administrator/Integrator)
  • Experience with integration between physical security systems and other corporate platforms (e.g., HRIS, Active Directory)
  • Knowledge of global security standards, privacy laws (e.g., GDPR, CCPA), and best practices impacting physical security data
  • Deep and practical technical knowledge of access control and video management systems, with the ability to quickly master new security technologies
  • Awareness and sensitivity to managing security operations and data across diverse international legal and cultural environments

Cooley offers a competitive compensation and excellent benefits package and is committed to fair and equitable employment practices. EOE.

The expected annual pay range for this position with a full-time schedule is $83,000 - $113,000. Please note that final offer amount will be dependent on geographic location, applicable experience and skillset of the candidate. Senior level candidates may be considered for this position and would be eligible for a higher salary range based on experience.
