The Senior Director, Sales Engineering (Solution Architecture) leads the daytoday operations, execution excellence, and continued development of Inovalon's Solution Architecture function. This role is highly handson and directly responsible for running presale feasibility analyses, including executing RWD cohort counts and translating clinical and business criteria into computable logic. The Senior Director partners closely with Sales, Product, Data Science, Engineering, and Delivery teams to architect highvalue, technically sound solutions for healthcare customers.

A core responsibility of this role is coselling alongside commercial teams-engaging prospects, uncovering needs through consultative dialogue, and articulating Inovalon's differentiated value propositions. The Senior Director ensures that feasibility work, solution design, and customer engagement are executed with rigor, consistency, and clarity. This role reports to the Head of Commercial Strategy.

Duties and Responsibilities



  • Lead the operational execution of the Solution Architecture function, ensuring highquality feasibility assessments and solution designs.
  • Execute and oversee presale feasibility analyses, including:


    • Running RWD cohort counts across internal and external data sources.
    • Translating clinical and business criteria into computable logic.
    • Validating feasibility outputs and communicating methodological considerations.


  • Apply deep expertise in healthcare data (claims, EHR, registry, lab, specialty, linked datasets) and analytic methods to design scalable, highvalue customer solutions.
  • Cosell alongside Sales by:


    • Engaging directly with prospects to understand scientific, clinical, and business needs.
    • Translating those needs into technically feasible solution constructs.
    • Articulating Inovalon's unique value propositions and data differentiation.
    • Supporting valuebased storytelling through feasibility insights and technical demonstrations.


  • Serve as the primary technical advisor during presale engagements, ensuring solution designs are feasible and aligned with platform capabilities.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts, data scientists, engineers, and product leaders to architect custom solutions.
  • Develop technical proposals, feasibility summaries, solution design documents, and customerfacing presentations.
  • Provide postsale technical guidance to ensure continuity between presale design and delivery.
  • Lead, mentor, and grow the Solution Architecture team; support hiring, training, and development.
  • Contribute to process improvements, documentation standards, and best practices for feasibility and solution design.
  • Represent Inovalon externally with data partners and collaborators as needed.
  • Maintain compliance with Inovalon policies, confidentiality requirements, and HIPAA standards.


Job Requirements



  • 10 years of experience in healthcare data, analytics, data engineering, or related technical domains.
  • Demonstrated experience running RWD feasibility analyses and executing patient counts across multiple data environments.
  • 3-5+ years leading technical or crossfunctional teams.
  • Strong understanding of data models, pipelines, SQLbased querying, and analytic methodologies used in HEOR, epidemiology, and clinical research.
  • Proven ability to cosell with commercial teams, including consultative discovery and technicalcommercial storytelling.
  • Ability to translate complex technical concepts for diverse audiences.
  • Strong communication skills and experience preparing technical documentation and client materials.
  • Expert fluency with SQL, Python, R, or similar analytic tools.
  • Highly organized, responsive, and detailoriented.
  • Positive, professional, and solutionoriented mindset.



Inovalon Offers a Competitive Salary and Benefits Package

In addition to the base compensation, this position may be eligible for performance-based incentives.

The actual base pay offered may vary depending on multiple factors including, but not limited to, job-related knowledge/skills, experience, business needs, geographical location, and internal equity. At Inovalon, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top end of the range for their role, and compensation decisions are dependent upon the facts and circumstances of each position and candidate.

Base Compensation Range
$170,900 $230,000 USD
